I am freaking out. FREAKING OUT. A few days ago I thought- like most normal teens over the age of 16- that this kid was a HOMO. No offense to anyone, really. But any guy who enjoys dancing around, jumping, and skipping in a movie as gay as High School Musical, would be thought of that way. As well as being gay, I thought this kid Efron was UGLY. I walked into my sisters room one day to find her watching this High School Musical and when I saw the star, I thought...ew. What's the deal with Zac Efron? Why does everybody think he is so great?

Then, yesterday, I had a life-changing experience. I saw Hairspray. Oh My God was that boy HOT in that movie; playing the Elvis-like Link Larkin. He's the best dancer at school and the love interest of the main character, Tracy Turnblad. Actually, he's more like the love interest of everybody- INCLUDING ME! I immediatly took back every bad thing I've ever said about Efron- except for him being gay. I was still convinced that this fruity, all-singing, all-dancing boy was anything but straight. But hot, never the less.
Then, today, another life-changing experience. I found a copy of the Rolling Stone in my sisters room. And who was on the cover? Zac Efron of course! My curiousity got the best of me so I opened the article and read all about Zac's life- all about his committment issues with Vanessa and how he refuses to disclose whether or not they're "dating" when it's so obvious that they are. But the most interesting thing in that article would have to be the fact that he DOESN'T LIKE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL! In fact, he couldn't even sit through the first one! He wants to stay BORING so Disney will give him work. Again, my opinion of Efron changed.
I have learned a very serious lesson from all this- yes, don't laugh, I have.
Don't be too quick to judge. In a matter of two days, my opinion of one person changed from an ugly, gay, teeny bopper, to a hot, straight, NORMAL TEEANGER, and all because I took the time to find out a little more about him. Of course, I don't really know that he's straight for sure, or even that he's normal...but I can say that he is gorgeous. But this lesson can still be applied to the real world even though most of the time it isn't. Don't label someone before you even get to know them- you could be wrong and missing out on something great.
*Other Notes:
I'm not knocking High School Musical. I know that for the little 8-12 year olds who love Disney channel, it's a great movie. It creates a High School fantasy land for them that they won't have to actually confront for years. It's great for them, but for everybody else, it's just too bubble gum-y.
Stay Hot, Efron.
